An e-way bill and a GPS position are different records. Part-A describes the consignment; Part-B holds transport details such as the vehicle number. Linking the bill to the trip helps an operator check that the recorded vehicle and consignment match the movement. Part-B is not a continuous feed of GPS coordinates.

As checked on 19 September 2026, the official extension API describes a window from eight hours before to eight hours after expiry, requires an authorised current transporter (or eligible generator), and restricts extension beyond 360 days from original generation. An alert does not establish extension eligibility, and the post-expiry request window is not permission to continue moving goods. Verify the rules for each movement.

Does Part-B update with every GPS position?
No. The official Part-B update API concerns transport details, including the vehicle number, place, state, and reason. GPS visibility can help operations review the journey, but Part-B is not a live-coordinate stream.
Can an expired e-way bill ever be extended?
The official API documentation checked on 19 September 2026 permits eligible extension requests within eight hours after expiry as well as eight hours before it. Conditions, permissions, reasons, and outer limits apply. The request must be accepted by the portal; do not treat the window as permission to continue moving goods.
Does MoboSafe guarantee that there will be no penalties?

Can one trip have more than one e-way bill?
