How to Download Your RC Book Online (Digital RC, 2026)
You do not need to wait for a physical RC card to have proof of registration. A digital RC carries the same legal standing and can be downloaded in a few minutes.
This guide shows how to get your digital RC through mParivahan and DigiLocker, and what to do if your original RC book is lost.
Download a digital RC through DigiLocker
1. Install DigiLocker and sign in with your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
2. Search for Registration of Vehicles under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
3. Enter your registration number to pull and save the RC to your DigiLocker.
The DigiLocker RC is an official document and is accepted during checks.
Get the RC in mParivahan
In the mParivahan app, use the Virtual RC option and enter your registration number. The RC is fetched from the Vahan database and stored in the app for offline viewing.
If your RC book is lost: apply for a duplicate
1. File a police report if the RC was lost or stolen.
2. Apply for a duplicate RC on the Parivahan Sarathi and Vahan services with form 26, the police report and the required fee.
3. Collect the duplicate RC from your RTO or receive it by post.
